Taihu Lake (1) : Vallée with bad luck in the sprint

The first stage of Tour of Taihu Lake (2.1, 7-14/10) was a very fast one. The 85 kilometers were totally flat in the Wuxi city center. The peloton rode an average speed of more than 48km/h and the stage win was contested in a bunch sprint. Boris Vallée was protected by the team during the whole stage, but in the final  he could not contest the sprint because of a mechanical problem with his chain. In the GC Vallée stays in 6th position. On Tuesday the second stage will lead the riders from Jurong to Maoshan National Scenic Area.
