Dunkirk - Solid team performance in toughest stage, Dupont retakes green jersey

In the fifth stage of the Four Days of Dunkirk (2.HC, 8-13/05) Wanty-Groupe Gobert once again showed up as a collective block. A big leading group rode in front on Saturday. Behind them our team took its responsibility in the pursuit. In the local laps around Cassel, where Xandro Meurisse won the stage two years ago, some riders from the leading group were able to remain out of the grip of the peloton.

After the solid teamwork of their teammates, Timothy Dupont and Xandro Meurisse accelerated in the chase in the rough final. Dupont finished 7th in Cassel, Meurisse 8th. With that seventh spot Dupont reclaims the green point jersey from Wouter Wippert. On Sunday a final bunch sprint is possible in the final stage to Dunkirk.
