Duinkerke - Meurisse top 5, Dupont has to give up leader jersey after tremendous team work

Xandro Meurisse sprinted to the fifth place on the uphill finish in the Four Days of Dunkirk (2.HC, 8-13/05). Wanty-Groupe Gobert started with leader Timothy Dupont on the fourth stage. Three riders formed the breakaway of the day, while Wanty-Groupe Gobert in the peloton kept the control. Last breakaway rider Julien Duval was caught after tremendous team work with 15km to go.

On the uphill finish at Mont Saint-Eloi Timothy Dupont did everything he could to keep his leader's jersey. At the end Dupont narrowly couldn't follow the best and still finished 11th. Xandro Meurisse felt good and finished fifth. Bryan Coquard won and took over the pink leader's jersey from Dupont. Saturday the stage to Cassel is on the program, where Xandro Meurisse won in 2016.
