Austria -Motivated Doubey in breakaway, Eiking getting better

In the fifth stage of Tour of Austria (2.1, 07-14/07) the tough Grossglockner was on the program. As a precaution Tom Devriendt abandoned with knee problems. After a French victory in the world Football championships Fabien Doubey was extra motivated. From the start in Matrei Doubey jumped away with 12 compagnons de route. They crossed the Felbertauern together in the lead.

Only on the final climb Doubey was caught by the reduced peloton, with Odd Eiking on the first row. After a difficult day with stomach problems Odd is getting better. At an altitude of 2500 meters Odd took 21st spot, while Fabien finished 24th a few seconds later. Kevin Van Melsen feels good on the Austrian roads and showed his promising form with a 44th spot on a mountaineous terrain.
