Alexander Evans' planned operation went well

On Wednesday October 28, Alexander Evans was operated in the hospital of Herentals to remove the plate from his elbow. The Australien rider suffered a triple fracture after a crash during training in January. In the meantime, the neopro from Circus-Wanty Gobert-Tormans is back in Girona, where he will be staying this winter. This Wednesday, he trained for the first time after his break and operation.

Alexander Evans:
« Actually, this operation in Belgium was already planned before the season. But because of the lockdown, I stayed in Australia until July. We've then chosen to finish the second part of the season before planning the operation. A muscle had to be cut in order to remove the plate, so I was in pain the first couple of days. But it is healing well now, I've got a good range of movement again. »

« I can now start building for the season again. I probably won't return to Australia this winter. It's disappointing that the Tour Down Under and the Cadel Evans Road Race were cancelled, because the team was planning to go there for the first time. Also Christmas with the family will have to be celebrated virtually this time. But I'm already looking forward to the next challenges with the team! »
